Starting from the Thanksgiving right to the
New Year’s Eve, we are in the most exciting month of the year. With one
festivity following the other, gorging on some mouth-watering delicacies will
be common. And burning those extra calories can be quite a task. You might not
make time to hit the gym with a tight schedule to follow, so here is a list of
3 exercises that will help you keep in shape when performed at home regularly.
They are simple and minimalistic but the result will be surprising enough.
Lunges
When it comes to losing weight and losing
it fast, lunges are the most effective exercise that gives you the desired
results. There are many variations to the type and kind of lunges that can be
performed, but the simple forward lunges burn the most amounts of calories.
Just stand upright with legs shoulder width apart. Slowly put your left forward
and start bending your body till you become parallel with the floor. Hold this
position for 10 counts then gradually descend to the original position. Repeat
the same with the other leg and complete 5 circuits for the maximum impact. Be
very careful about the clothes you choose when performing this particular
exercise. You can opt for a sports bra
in neon shades with a pair of black yoga capris that offer good stretch and
high compression, to be able to move freely.
Squats
Triggering the fat tissues in the lower
portion of your body, mainly thighs and buttocks, squats are very effective. Stand
a feet width apart with your backbone straight. You can choose to hold weights.
Now slowly bend as you raise your hands in front of you till you are parallel
with the floor. Maintain this position for 10 seconds and then gradually come
to your original position. Repeat the exercise in sets of 3 with 15 repetitions
each to get the anticipated results. Do not put pressure on your knees but
support your body using the lower part of your body. Wear clothes that offer
high to medium compression and allows free movement of your body. Tank tops in
darker hues and a pair of leggings in unique prints and patterns can help you
look stylish even when you are trying to get rid of the extra weight.
Mountain
Climbers
Mountain climbers are excellent when you
have to lose a lot of weight fast and in a healthy way. All you need is a yoga
mat that will provide a cushion and prevent you from getting injured. Lie on
the floor with your hands placed near your shoulders. Slowly raise your body so
that you come in a plank position. Now balance your body weight on your hands
while you bring your left feet close to your chest. By holding the pose for 10
counts bring your leg back and repeat the same with the other one. 15
repetitions in a set of 3 will be very effective. Opt for a sports bra and a
pair of shorts when performing this exercise for it will let you move freely
and keep you at ease.
When performing these exercises, make sure
to avoid any kind of metal embellishments for they can be extremely
